1st time here and I live so close I feel bad for waiting so long. I took friends from out of town and the place is clean, friendly, and a good variety of food. We had shrimp, catfish, fried okra, hush puppies, and fries. The portions are large for the price and it was cooked fresh once we ordered.
Unassuming made to order seafood spot in a strip mall. I give it four stars but am a little more critical than other reviewers of it. Perch dinner with slaw and hush puppies: Portion of perch was great. The hush puppies not so much for a dinner portion I expected more puppies and slaw. Perch: perfect crunchy cornmeal forward coating. A few tough prices and spots but generally well cooked. A tad, not much, but a tad too greasy under the coating. Eat it while hot and can hardly tell. The biggest issue is it lacked seasoning. Perch and cornmeal were fine but it needed seasoned badly. Huspuppies. A little small so I wished for 1-2 more. However excellent cook crispy outside and soft inside and had that hint of onion that most miss when offering hush puppies. Slaw: Good enough. Pretty standard slaw offering. Leans sweet which I prefer Sauces: the cocktail sauce is amazing with a perfect punch of horseradish. More people should talk about this sauce lol The tarter was in a packet. They have a perfect opportunity to stand out by making homemade tarter I'd suspect. Overall, pretty good, especially when made to order perch is hard to find. Add some seasoning and tarter and easily 5+
Still the best seafood in town. Customer service is top notch each and every time. This is a locally owned long time restaurant that started on Cane Run Rd and now on Breckenridge Rd in The McMahon Plaza. Recommend to get their takeout menu or check out Goodall's Country Kitchen You tube channel review of this place done 7 months ago. Everything is very good and fresh here. The chicken Tenders are my wife's go to here. It very tasty large pieces that take her two days to eat six of em. The onion rings are a must have, I get them every time as well. My best advice is to come early as you can b/c they sell out something's here. Over 700 google review has it as a five star place. This place is super clean, tastiest seafood with a large menu of all kind of food, and plenty of parking.
Had lunch today. Being in a strip mall there is plenty of parking. If you are looking for some fried seafood then Shark's Seafood might be what you are looking for. In addition to fish they also offer wings. But we came for fish so I got the Cod Sandwhich. It was hot and crispy and the rye bread was nice and soft. Fries were crispy on the outside but under seasoned. Added some salt and they were decent fries. Almost everything on the menu is froed so if your looking for a lot of grilled/steamed options this might nit be the place for you. You order at the counter when you cone in. The food is served in disposable styrofoam containers. They keep most condiments behind the counter which is a little frustrating if you want more than what they initially give you. All in all next time I am craving a fish sandwhich I will be back. :)
I had the Cod sandwich (7.99), served on white bread, along with an order of lightly battered shrimp (8pc). The sandwich was comprised of 2 large cod loins on white breaded. Wonderful. The light batter allows for the flavors to come to life. I truly enjoyed the meal.
